Kowalski and me (work in progress)

2017/ongoing

Work in progress
Video material, drawings, notes

In 2017 I was artist-in-residence at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. There, I spent two months inside the famous and enigmatic Kowalnia workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and its spin-offs led by Kowalnia-alumni Artur Żmijewski and Paweł Althamer.

Kowalski and me is a work-in-progress that shares my experiences there. Above is a trailer showing some of my video documentation material at a Plener, a one-week collaborative class that I observed at Kowalnia.

Many thanks to professor Grzegorz Kowalski, Łukasz Kosela, Tomáš Rafa, Artur Żmijewski, Paweł Althamer, Anna Czaban, Karina Beumer, all students of Kowalnia and many more.

My stay at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art was made possible by the Mondriaan Fund and the City of Warsaw. Me continuing working on my findings is supported by LAPS | Research Institute for Art and Public Space.
